League One Preview | 2 July

Four matches will take place this Sunday in Betfred League One and here is a closer look at what is set to take place this weekend.

North Wales Crusaders will host Rochdale Hornets at Chester Rugby Club, as Rochdale Hornets make the journey from Greater Manchester to Cheshire.

The four game winning streak came to an end for North Wales last week, who suffered a defeat to Hunslet.

Crusaders have won four of their 11 games and sit sixth in the table.

North Wales won two of the three meetings last season.

Rochdale Hornets are seventh in League One and just trail their opposition on point difference.

The Hornets have lost their last three, however, these have come against sides that are in the top four of the table.

Rochdale beat North Wales 32-18 when the sides met in May.

Hunslet will welcome a Doncaster side, who have only lost one game this season in League One.

Hunslet have had a strong 2023 with 8 wins from 11 matches which has seen them occupy fourth in the table.

Their last home victory against the Dons came in 2016 with a 48-6 Challenge Cup success.

Doncaster have had a near perfect season, with just one defeat from 11 matches. This came against the unbeaten Dewsbury Rams.

The two sides met in Round One and Richard Horne’s side edged a 18-16 contest.

The Dons are unbeaten in their last six visits to Hunslet.

Midlands Hurricanes and Dewsbury Rams will meet for just the second time.

The sides met in Round Two, which saw Dewsbury get a convincing 50-10 win.

The Hurricanes sit eight in the table with two wins which have come against London Skolars and Cornwall.

Dewsbury have won 12 of 13 matches this season, with a draw against Oldham being the only time they have dropped a point.

Liam Finn’s side have scored 499 points in attack, meanwhile in defence they have conceded nearly 100 less than their oppositions.

Oldham will welcome Workington Town in the final game on Sunday.

The Roughyeds have already defeated Workington this season, however, they have lost their last two against Town at home.

Oldham have lost their past two matches, but these came against the two sides who are above them in the table.

Workington would move just a point behind Oldham if they were to get the win on Sunday.

Sean Sabutey has been Workington’s top scorer with 11 this season and could post a threat to Oldham
